Nice was probably one of the most exciting teams in the French Ligue 1 last season, as they managed to qualify for the Europa League and all that was thanks to Hatem Ben Arfa, who was on a brilliant form. Luciano Favre, a manager with intelligence, and two new players in the form of Mario Balotelli and Younes Belhanda, who are out to redeem themselves, the people from Nice can dream about their team challenging for the Ligue 1. And perhaps going on to have a deep run in the Champions League.
Looking at Balotelli and Belhanda’s history?
Most say his career is finished yet he is only 26 years old and has accomplished a lot of things. Balotelli has scored a total of 48 goals in Serie A for both AC Milan and Inter Milan, he has scored 26 goals for Manchester City and lets not forget the all important assist he provided for Aguero which won Manchester City the league in 2012. Last but not least he played a major role in carrying Italy to the Euro 2012 finals, he single handedly took out Germany with those two glorious goals in the semi finals. The Ligue 1 is the best place for Balotelli to refind himself again and now that he has matured he can revive his career and maybe take Nice to the next level.
Belhanda, like Balotelli has been going through some trials and tribulations over the last two seasons but prior to that he was Africa’s most promising player, as he played a key role along with Olivier Giroud in helping Montpellier win the league in 2012. In that same season he scored 12 goals and provided 4 assists. The following season he still managed to stay consistent scoring 12 goals in all competitions. However, from there on things really started getting rough for him, but a loan spell at Schalke looked promising as he was beginning to find himself again. With Balotelli upfront, Belhanda and Balo could form the Double B gang which can prove to be dangerous.
