A Look At FC Barcelona’s New Signings

The transfer window barely began but Barcelona have already signed three players, who all turn out to be youngsters.
What Advantage Could This Have On The Team?
Luis Enrique will have the much needed depth he needs in order to try and win everything next season. Barcelona have brought in Samuel Umtiti from Lyon who was very impressive at Euro 2016, and they have also resigned Denis Suarez who had a brilliant season with Villarreal and last but not least Lucas Digne who had an incredible spell on loan with Roma has been signed.
A Look At Barcelona’s new Faces?
Samuel Umtiti
Barcelona signing Samuel made a lot more sense because Barcelona is a team that plays passing football and they are always on the market for players who are good on the ball and Umtiti was the second best centre back in passing accuracy in 2015/16 Ligue 1, only surpassed by Thiago Silva. At the Euros, with the amount of games he played Samuel Umtiti, completed 95% of his passes for France. Barcelona have probably picked a centre back that will surpass Javier Mascherano who is past his best.
Denis Suarez
Five goals and 13 assists last season for Villarreal was enough for Barcelona to exercise their pay back clause on him. Let’s not forget that Denis was playing for a Villarreal team that was very defensive but despite that he still managed to be involved in 18 of their goals last season. With the way Barcelona is set up Denis will thrive, he might not get enough game time but he will surly have an impact whenever he gets a chance.
Lucas Digne
Barcelona have officially picked up the best left back in Serie A last season. Last time Barcelona had a French left back it was Eric Abidal who was a dominant figure at the back but going forward he wasn’t that good. However Digne is very explosive and he’s a good option when he gets forward. Lucas Digne was among the best 20 defenders in terms of the highest ratio of tackles won in 2015/16 Serie A (49 out of 56, 87.5%). Only two defenders scored or assisted more goals in Serie A last season than Digne. The Frenchman also had the best tackle success rate in Serie A 2015/16 amongst the defenders with 45+ tackles attempted. It looks like Jordi Alba’s place in the Barcelona team is in serious jeopardy with Digne’s arrival.
What’s interesting about Barcelona’s signings are all three players are 22 years old. Another player who is linked with Barcelona is Luciano Vietto, he is also 22 years old.
