The Collapse Of Barcelona Explained

Just a couple of weeks ago the world was praising Barcelona as the best team ever, after starting the season slowly Barcelona bounced back and almost looked completely invincible and already having sealed the Club World Cup trophy and booking a Copa Del Rey final and being 9 points clear in La Liga it was perhaps a good time to be a Barcelona fan ?

How Did They Start To Crack?

The Cracking Process started to Manifest itself when Barcelona faced Atletico Madrid in La Liga on January the 30th. Barcelona ended up winning the game 2-1 against a nine men Atleti team. Despite Atleti playing with few men they have managed to expose the cule’s weaknesses which were Jordi Alba and Daniel Alves. Villarreal, Malaga, Las Palmas and Sevilla were also the teams that were exposing Barcelona’s problems but Barcelona’s front three kept being the difference for them by a slim margin. Daniel Alves and Jodi Alba are extremely good when they get forward but defensively they are weak plus Neymar and Messi don’t really track back to help them out like what most wingers should do.

Lack of Rotating?

The one mistake Luis Enrique made this season is to believe that Barcelona players are robots and not humans. Especially players like Pique, Daniel Alves, Messi, Neymar, Suarez and Sergio Busquets needed some rest but didn’t get rest. Looking at the Barcelona bench players like Arda Turan, Adriano (playing in a attacking position) Munir, Sandro Ramirez, Vermalian and Aleix Vidal are players who can really step up and win Barcelona games. However, Luis Enrique isn’t showing enough faith in them, as a result he sticked with the same team almost week in and week out

Are Barcelona Fans Using Arda Turan As A Scapegoat?

Arda Turan was signed for €32 million and when he arrived he only trained with the team as result of Barca’s transfer ban. He never really played proper games, he only started to feature in January meaning? Meaning that he never played competitive games (apart from for Turkey) from August to January that’s about six months of no competitive football for the first team, so how do u expect him to settle in. After Barcelona lost against Real Madrid and Real Sociedad, Cule fans were blaming him for the defeats which I think is foolish because in reality he isn’t at fault for these games. Why weren’t these criticisms brought up when the team was winning. Before criticisms are brought on a player he should at least be judged after two seasons.

Can Barcelona still win the League & Copa Del Rey?

Yes they can however Luis Enrique needs to rest some of key players and bring them on at halftime, this would be an ideal XI for Barcelona considering that they don’t have tough fixtures left.
