Premier League Transfer Targets

  • By Joe Hill – Championship correspondent and columnist @Joehillwolves

So the season is fast approaching and it seems every player is linked to one club or another, so here are my top signings that could be available before the Transfer Window closes.

Top clubs targets:
• Isco – Real Madrid
To: Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City.
This Spanish midfielder has been rumoured with many top sides across Europe and particularly in the Premier League and it’s no wonder why. He is a classy midfielder scoring 36 goals and assisting 34 in less then 200 appearances in Madrid. At 23 he has the potential to be a top player for any club and become the finest player in European football.

• Ashley Williams – Swansea City
To: Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea or Everton.
The Swansea captain has been an ever-present in a side which don’t concede many goals, so with clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool among others looking for a central defender a bid for Williams may be worthwhile. The Wales international is in his prime and may be exactly what some of the big sides need at the back.

.• Ezequiel Lavezzi – PSG

To: Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester United.                                                                                                          The PSG attacking midfielder is entering into the last year of his contract and with the French club wanting to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations they will look to cash in before he’s able to leave on a free next year. So it’s a perfect opportunity for the Premier League’s elite to get him for a cut price.

Mid-table must haves:
• Fabio Borini – Liverpool

To: Stoke City, Sunderland or Aston Villa.                                                                                                                               The ex Chelsea youngster has struggled to make a impact at the top clubs he’s been at. But during his loan at Sunderland in 2013/14 he made a good impression. Despite playing left wing the striker clocked up 12 goals which helped them steer clear of relegation showed his potential and being only 24 he may be a shrewd signing.

• Alex Song – Barcelona

To: West Ham United, Aston Villa or Newcastle.                                                                                                                   The Cameroon international had a huge impact for West Ham and should be considered by any club looking to break from mid-table into them European places. His ability to control a game and his experience makes him a sure bet for a top quality player.

• Jetro Willems –  PSV

To: Newcastle, West Ham United or West Brom                                                                                                              Currently at PSV, this Dutch international can play anywhere down the left and may of gone unnoticed last season earning the most assists in Eredivise would yet again be great addition for any club looking to take next step in their development forward.

Relegation saviours:
• Jordan Rhodes – Blackburn Rovers

To: Bournemouth, Watford or Norwich.                                                                                                                                   All teams down the bottom will need a goal scorer to guarantee them help to safety, well this 25 year old, Scottish striker has hit 20+ goals the last 4 seasons. So if that’s not a proven I don’t know what is!

• Nathan Ake (loan) – Chelsea

To: Leicester City, Norwich or Watford                                                                                                                                        Slightly different as to the others as he’d only be available on loan, but never the less with him currently finding him down the pecking order, Chelsea and Ake will want him to play first team football. So would be perfect for any club needing another centre-back.

• Rob Green – QPR

To: Watford or Leicester City                                                                                                                                                Last season he proved he can still perform at the highest level often being the only good performer in a otherwise abysmal QPR side, managing to 6 clean sheets which shows there’s still something there.

Thanks for reading again and I hope you enjoy.

  1. It will be a surprise if Isco leaves Real Madrid, particularly for a fee short of 50 million Euros. Great football blog overall, I am your latest follower.
